I live in the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington near Canada. I was driving through Portland on Interstate 5 with plenty of traffic and ran into a pot hole in my lane. I had little notice of it and no place to swerve, so ran right through it. . . and it was deep! Soon, I heard this awful noise and the "low-air-in-tire" light went on. I drove a little while further and took an off-ramp on the freeway praying to find an auto repair place in (for me) a strange city. I drove right up to Gary's. Dan Long came out and assessed the damage. I needed two rims and a two tires. Since I had a spare tire and rim, he immediately ordered a new rim for next day delivery. They called the hotel I selected to make a reservation and drove me to the hotel to spend the night. Next morning, they picked me up and brought me back to Gary's. By about noon, I was on my way. Not once did he try to sell me something I did not need! The workers were thoughtful, efficient, and kind. I was so thankful Dan was honest and did not try to sell me "extras." I felt very blessed to have my prayers answered: help in a strange city, without having to deal with someone trying to sell me lots of unnecessary stuff--and besides, they even provided taxi service to and from the hotel!. And the price? I was amazed at how reasonable they were! I was expecting to have a much larger bill. So thank you, Dan Long and crew; God bless you!
